1. Overview

ReceiptIQ ("we", "us") provides a receipt tracking and spending insights service. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. By using ReceiptIQ you agree to the practices described here.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: email address and authentication credentials.
  • Receipt data: uploaded receipt images, extracted line items, store names, totals, dates, and categories you assign.
  • Spending data: aggregated totals, categories, and trends derived from your receipts.
  • Usage data: basic technical logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) used to secure the service.
  • Payment data: if you subscribe, billing information is collected and processed by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number.

3. How we use your data

We use your data solely to provide the ReceiptIQ service, including:

  • Parsing and organising your receipts.
  • Generating personal spending insights.
  • Authenticating you and protecting your account.
  • Processing subscription payments.
  • Communicating service-related notices (e.g. security alerts, billing).

4. We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We do not use your receipts or spending data for advertising.

5. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted processors to operate the service:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Stripe — subscription payments and billing.
  • Google Vision API — optical character recognition on receipt images.

Each processor is bound by its own privacy and security commitments.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your receipts, uploaded images, and profile data are permanently removed from our database and file storage within 30 days. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics may be retained for service improvement.

7. Your rights & deleting your data

You can request a copy of your data or permanent deletion at any time by emailing privacy@iqreceipt.com. You can also delete your account directly from the Account screen.

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required to keep you signed in and to remember your theme preference. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

9. GDPR (EU/UK)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing is the performance of our contract with you and, where applicable, your consent.

10. CCPA (California)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of any "sale" of personal information. As stated above, ReceiptIQ does not sell personal information.

11. Security

Receipts are stored in a private bucket that requires authentication for access. Database access is protected by row-level security so a user can only read their own data. All traffic is encrypted in transit.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
